Apple’s iPhone 17 series, expected to come as successors of the iPhone 16 lineup in September, and the details of the next year’s alleged iPhone 18 lineup have already been leaked online. The iPhone 18 series of smartphones have been touched to debut with more RAM and advanced chips. Now, a new report suggests that the Cupertino Tech giants can change their plans for the release of their upcoming iPhone models, which are starting in 2026. In the iPhone 18 lineup, some handsets may be launched as usual around September 2026, while others may reach next year.
iPhone 18 lineup release strategy
Information Reports It is considering a stagnant release for the Apple smartphone’s iPhone 18 series. Citing anonymous sources, the publication claims that the company is expected to launch the premium iPhone 18 model, including the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the iPhone 18 air variants, with a decline in 2026.
Apple usually introduces new iPhone models around the same time over the last few years. Since 2026, however, the company cannot unveil all the handsets of the series at a time. Standard iPhone 18 models and an iPhone 18E version are expected to come to the markets until Vasant 2027 (around March or April 2027).
Base iPhone 18 and iPhone 18E would have allegedly undergoing manufacturing tests in India. This is called due to Apple’s efforts to reduce its manufacturing dependence on China.
This change in strategy can be attributed to several reasons. According to the report, Apple is expected to introduce a foldable smartphone in 2026 along with Pro and Air Editions. Compatible release plans may help promote upcoming iPhone sales. This will probably help the company to better allocate resources, as the number of manufacturing workers will need to be reduced at a time.
The previous leak suggested that Apple iPhone 18 could use 2Nm TSMC chipset in the phone. All handsets of the lineup are expected to come up with 12GB RAM. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max can also come up with a hole-pan style camera cutout instead of Dynamic Island, as Apple reportedly prepares to launch the iPhone with an all-screen display.
