Officials said on Thursday that the government has resumed the operation of the army and air force versions of the advanced light helicopter Dhruv.

The entire fleet of more than 330 pole helicopters operated by the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard was frozen after an accident of one of the choppers in early January.
On 5 January, a pole helicopter of Coast Guard crashed on the runway of Porbandar Airport in Gujarat. Two pilots and an aircraft diver of helicopter died in the incident.
Indigenously designed and developed advanced light helicopters (ALH-DHRUV) 5.5 tonnes have a twin engine, multi-raoll, multi-mission New Generation Helicopter.
So far, more than 340 pole helicopters have been produced by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
