Army Officer, 23, Desing Soldier, joined the force 6 months ago

Giving an exemption of courage, an Indian Army official jumped into a stream in Sikkim to save a fellow soldier, eventually drowned himself after flowing.

Lieutenant Shashank Tiwari, 23 -year -old Sikkim Scouts, was commissioned in December last year, leading a patrol -opening route towards a strategic operating base in Sikkim. Moving towards the major posts being prepared for future deployment, one of the Petrol team members lost the footing while crossing the log bridge at around 11 am.

Agnivar Stephen Subba fell from the bridge and was swept away by a mountain stream. Lieutenant Tiwari jumped into the water to save Mr. Subba, which was drowning. Another soldier Naik Pukar Katail immediately chased in support and managed to save the drowning agnostic.

Even when Mr. Subba was brought for security, Lieutenant Tiwari was swept away by a strong current and his body was found 800 meters down after about 30 minutes. He has survived his parents and sister.

The Indian Army stated that “despite its tender age and brief service”, Lieutenant Tiwari “leaves behind a legacy of courage and comradery that would inspire the soldiers to come to come.”

“At Bengdubi Military Station, a wreath was laid with full military honors by Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwalla, Gok Triski Corps, which remains for his hometown before the last journey of Brevhart’s mortal,” posted on the 33-based 33 core (Tricho Korps).

He said, “The dedication to his bravery and duty will continue to inspire generations. The Indian hospitality stands shoulder to shoulder with the family in this hour of grief,” he said.
