Srinagar:
Officials today said that a junior commission officer (JCO) of the army has been killed in an encounter with terrorists along with the Line of Control (LOC) in the Akhamur region of Jammu and Kashmir.
In February, two soldiers were killed in action in a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) attack by militants in Akhanur sector.
India and Pakistan clashed two days after the Brigade Commander-tier flag meeting in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss issues related to border management. This was the second such meeting after February in an attempt to end tension after about a dozen incidents of cross -border firing and IED attack.
The violation of the ceasefire with LoC has been rare since India and Pakistan, renewed the ceasefire agreement on 25 February 2021.
3 terrorists killed in the installment of Jammu and Kashmir
The army said that three terrorists have been killed in the ongoing operation in the ice bound area of Kishtar district of Jammu and Kashmir. A terrorist was ineffective a day earlier.
The Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps said in a post on X, “Chhatru, despite the ongoing operations in the installment, two more Pakistani terrorists have been abolished. Two more Pakistani terrorists have been abolished. Shops including large quantities such as AK and an M4 rifle have been recovered.”
