Hyderabad:
AIMIM chairman Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday participated in protest against the WAQF (Amendment) Act by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB).
Speaking to reporters, the MPs of Hyderabad, who attended the protest at their residence here, said the stir was successful and thanked those who participated in it.
He said that people stopped the lights for 15 minutes between 9 am and 9.15 pm.
The purpose of the protest is to send a message to the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Act will only destroy the Waqf boards.

He alleged that the Act is unconstitutional and violates various provisions of the Constitution.
AIMLB will also organize human chain and round table conferences after two weeks as part of its movement, he said.
This protest will continue until the Center takes back the Act, stating that the ‘Switching of Lights’ was held as part of the ongoing movement under the AIMPLB agency.
Given that AIMIM has listened to the Pahalgam terror attack, he targeted Hindu victims after asking for his religion.
