Bar Association of Top Court condemns Nishikant Dubey’s comments, demanded action


New Delhi:

The Supreme Court Bar Association condemned BJP leader Nishikant Dubey on its comments against the Supreme Court, saying that it was not only defamation, but also “the amount of contempt of the court”. In a proposal, the association hoped that the Attorney General would agree to contempt court action against BJP MP.

The resolution of the lawyers has read today, “This attack on the Supreme Court, as an institution, and Chief Justice of India, Mr. Justice Sanjeev Khanna, as a person, is unacceptable and should be dealt with according to the law.”

“We hope that the Attorney General accused the responsibility of protecting the Constitution and the laws, who allegedly received a petition obtained to move forward for criminal contempt against Mr. Nishikant Dubey, will give consent to protect the dignity of the institute and the dignity of the Chief Justice of India, Shri Justice Sanjeev Khanna.”

On Sunday, Mr. Dubey expressed a series of strong comments against the apex court, stating that Parliament and State Legislative Assembly should be closed if the court makes laws.

He swiped a swipe in Chief Justice Bharat Sanjeev Khanna, which blamed him for the “civil war” in the country.

“Parliament enacts the law of this country. You will determine that Parliament? … How did you make a new law? In which law has the President it has to take a decision within three months? It means that you want to take this country to anarchy. When Parliament sits, it will have a detailed discussion … Mr. Dubey said that the talk of criticism.

The BJP has removed itself from Nishikant Dubey’s remarks. “The BJP’s judiciary and the Chief Justice of the country have nothing to do with the statements made by BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma. These are his personal statements, but the BJP neither agrees with such statements nor supports such statements.
