The biker who participated in a fight with an Indian Air Force officer on Bangalore Road, accused the officer of filing a false complaint against him and insisted that he would not “go”.
Vikas Kumar, who works as the head of the team at a software company’s call center, has been granted bail after a new video, in which Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose attacked him brutally. The Air Force official had earlier suggested that he did not retaliate and instigated a language issue, insisting that the biker told him, “This is Kannada land”. A video recorded with a blood -soaked face by the Air Force officer went viral on social media, causing resentment. However, a CCTV video added a turn and flew in front of the claims of an Air Force officer, as he was seen kicking and punching Vikas. The police made it clear that it was a road rage case and no language was a line angle.
Vikas said in the video that he is afraid of his job. “The police have assured me that it will not affect my job, but based on my conversation with the human resource team at my workplace, it seems that I can lose my job. But I will not let it go. The Air Force Wing Commander used the language issue and filed a false complaint,” he said.
Vikas said that he knows six languages including Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. He said, “I need to know many languages to survive in Bengaluru, but he (the officer) filed a false case. He was the one who attacked me,” he said.
After the emergence of the new video, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramah ordered a police action against the Indian Air Force official and said the incident “has hurt Kannadigas’s self-esteem”. “Kannadigus people are proud of their mother tongue, not hate. Kannadigas does not have a small part of attacking or abusing others regardless of the language issue. Kannada is not a small part of the culture of clay, who treats everyone who has come from every corner of the country and settled with respect here and loves them as a Kannadigas. Earlier, the police had registered a case of serious injuries on the complaint of the Air Force officer’s wife, squadron leader Madhumita Dutta. After the new video emerged, he registered a murder case against Wing Commander Bose.
