A leader of Uttar Pradesh BJP has sent a notice by the party to interpret a “unfair” video with a woman at the district party office in Gonda, which is about 120 km from the state capital Lucknow.
A party worker called the video “shameful” and filed a formal complaint with the BJP leadership. BJP Gonda chief Amar Kishore Kashyap has been asked by the party to convince its conduct within seven days.
BJP’s state general secretary, Govind Narayan Shukla issued a notice to Mr. Kashyap, “The video broadcast on social media has brought light conduct that negatively affects the party’s reputation and falls under the category of indiscipline.”
“As per the instructions of the state president, you are asked to submit a written explanation to the BJP state office within seven days. Failure to provide a satisfactory response within the stipulated time will invite strict disciplinary action,” he said.
The video was reportedly recorded on 12 April.
Amar Kishore Kashyap claims that the woman called her saying that she is unwell and wants a place to rest.
“The woman is an active member of our party. She called me and said,” President, I am not feeling good. I want to rest. Give me a place to stay for a while. ” So I picked him up and brought him to the office, “Mr. Kashyap said.
