BJP’s Arun Govil on Mahadev Betting App

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Govil said on Friday that strict action should be taken against those involved in the matter related to Mahadev betting app.

“Mahadev app has been in controversy and people from Bollywood to politicians – Chhattisgarh leaders have been questioned in this matter. The government should take strict action against those who are involved in illegal activities … Youth is the future of the country and if they are joining it, the future of the country will not be bright.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has nominated former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Bhagel as an accused in the Mahadev betting app case.

On 1 April, the CBI made public the first information report (FIR) in connection with the Mahadev online betting app case.

According to the fir a total of 21 people have been named as accused incsed if; Ravi UPPAL, Shubham Soni (Pintu), Chandra Vhushan Verma, Assem Das, Satish Chandrakar, Nitish Deewan, Saurabh Chandrakar, Anil Agarwal (Atul Agarwal) Vikas Vikas Chhapriya, ROHIT GALATI, VISHAL AHHAHALATI, VISHAL AHAHALATI, Dheeraj Ahuja, Anil Kumar Dammani, Sunil Kumar Dammani, Bhim Singh Yadav, Harishankar Tibarwal, Surendra Bagi, Suraj Chokhani and Two Other Unknown Persons, Including a tribus of.

The CBI has accused the accused with sections 120 (B), 420, 467, 468 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC); Section 11, 7, 8, 4, and Section 4 (A) of the Chhattisgarh Gambling (Prohibition) Act, 2002.

On 26 March, the investigative agency seized three phones and discovered 14 hours at the residence of former CM Bhupesh Bhagel.

Originally received on March 4, 2024, the FIR alleged that Mahadev online book was illegally operating betting services. The complaint also alleges that other websites are also being operated along with the promoters of the Mahadev betting app, named “Skyxchen”, which is allegedly being operated by Hari Shankar Tibrevel in collaboration with Mahadev Online Book.

The complaint alleges that Mahadev provides illegal betting services to the platform in various “live games” including poker, card games, chances games, betting on sports. In 2019-2020 during the Kovid -19 lockdown, the app increased five years ago.
