Former Chief Minister KCR’s daughter BRS leader K Kavitha criticized the Congress in Telangana for running the “government of words, not just an action”, and claimed that the people of the state are fast losing faith in their leadership.
In the last 15 months, the BRS leader said, the Congress government has not even started a single irrigation project.
Spotting the plight of the farmers, he claimed that the state was seeing unprecedented administrative failure and negligence.
He said that despite the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and two state ministers in Khammam, no reviews were made on crop loss on a large scale due to recent hailstorm.
In Khammam, he said, “In Telangana, paddy fields were flooded, mango flowers were lost, and yet, no serious response or evaluation has been made from the government,” he said in Khammam.
The leader also claimed that Revanath Reddy, who is currently on a foreign tour in Japan, has not talked to revenue authorities about rain and resulting damage.
He demanded that each acre of the damaged farm be compensated with Rs 20,000, claiming a minimum step towards supporting the struggling farmers, claiming that the state government had failed to fulfill its major promises.
He said, “More than half of the beneficiaries have not received Ritu confidence financial assistance. The government is lying about completing farm loan exemption as 60% of the eligible farmers are still waiting,” they claimed.
He also mentioned that the funds promised for farm laborers have not been distributed under the Atmmia Bharma Yojana.
Pointing to the alleged grievance at the party, K Kavitha said that the ministers are busy engaging in the power struggles rather than focusing on public welfare.
K Kavitha also took a strong exception to the Chief Minister’s alleged silence on the action of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Ms. Kavita said, “While the Congress party at the national level had asked for a widespread protest, Revanath Reddy maintained full silence and did not give any response,” Ms. Kavita said, “Highlights the Chief Minister’s double standards and lack of commitment to her party’s leadership”.
Calling for collective public participation at the upcoming BRS Rajatotaswam Sabha, K Kavitha said that it is time to show the Congress that people demand governance which is not only empty slogans, but only empty slogans.
