In a large crack on misinformation related to National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG) 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has identified 106 telegram and 16 Instagram accounts, allegedly involved in spreading fake news about the examination, sources said. This action is online amidst increasing concerns about paper leak claims and misleading information. The Cyber Crime Coordination Center under the Ministry of Home Affairs is investigating the case.
Earlier, the NTA launched a dedicated portal, urging the public to report any suspect or NEET related claims. So far, around 1,500 reports have been received – most of them are connected to telegram channels.
“This initiative aligns with public examinations (prevention of inappropriate means) Act, 2024, which aims to eliminate improper practices in public examinations and protect the future of candidates,” NTA said.
