Ahmedabad:
The Congress is going to have a “large -scale organizational reshuffle”, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal said on Tuesday that the top leaders of the party met in Ahmedabad and vowed to adopt the “path of social justice” by Sardar Patel.
After a meeting of the Congress Working Committee, extended at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial in Ahmedabad, briefing journalists said that the Congress has dedicated the full reorganization of the party organization this year and the issue was discussed in length in the meeting.
“We are going to make a large-scale organizational reshuffle, and there will be guidelines for the same. Our general secretary and in-charge are on this,” he said.
Shri Venugopal also stressed that measures to empower the party’s district unit heads will soon be rolled out.
He said, “We have already decided on that issue, empowering DCC presidents and duties and DCC powers have been discussed in various forums, already general secretaries and in-charge have approved the proposals and we are going to roll the proposal in the near future,” he said that he said that answering questions.
Mr. Venugopal said that the extended CWC passed a resolution that “our party will follow the path shown by Sardar Patel ji”.
“He stood against the oppression of the British, fighting for the rights of workers and farmers. He rejected communal forces after Bapu’s assassination. He fought for an India, where everyone had fundamental rights and freedom.
“Today, as we adopt on the path of social justice, our NYay path follows the same principles set by Sardar Patel,” he said.
In his initial address at the meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also claimed the party’s claim for Sardar Patel’s legacy and accused the BJP and RSS of trying to incite it under the “well -employed conspiracy” against the national heroes.
Mr. Kharge insisted that the Congress is carrying forward the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Patel.
“Sardar Patel Sahab lives in our hearts, lives in our thoughts. We are taking his legacy forward. We have held this CWC meeting with this idea at Sardar Patel Museum in Ahmedabad. We pay our heartiest tribute,” he said.
Earlier in the day, AICC General Secretary Sachin Pilot told reporters that the Congress has intended to create more powerful district units with its presidents, which are increasing accountability, responsibility and political strength.
He said that the Congress would fight the upcoming elections with strength and expressed confidence that the Congress and its assistant ideologies would come together to challenge the BJP and the NDA.
Briefing reporters outside the venue, Mr. Pilot said, “The Congress President and the Leader of the Opposition have to make a more powerful district unit.” He said, “Accountability, responsibility and political power that we have given to the district presidents thus to be extended,” he insisted.
The final result will be decided after the conference on Wednesday, but the intention of the Congress is to strengthen the presidents of the District Pradesh Congress (DCC) than before, the former Union Minister said, the objective of this step is to expand the party’s reach in villages, divisions and booths.
He said, “The year 2025 is the year of the organization to strengthen our workers, expand the ideology of our party and ensure that the Congress arrives at a collective contact program through a padyatra and door-to-door programs,” he said.
The party wants to send a clear message not only to its opponents but also to its supporters and workers that the Congress will not back down aggressively within both Parliament and outside and will ensure that it wins the next political challenge, Mr. Pilot said.
“Elections are fought to win, the next few elections we will fight with strength and I am very confident that the Congress and its assistant ideologies will come together to challenge the BJP and the NDA,” said Mr. Pilot.
He said that the resolution passed at the end of the session on April 9 will be named ‘NYAY PATH’.
