Congress general secretary Jayaram Ramesh has termed the Center’s decision to conduct a caste census “a win for crores of people of India”. He said that when Rahul Gandhi said that the caste census is “X-ray of society”, the BJP ridiculed him. ,
Ramesh said in a post in Hindi, “When our leader Mr. Rahul Gandhi ji said,” The caste census is an X-ray of society, “So people in the ruling party ridiculed him, ignored him and lax,” Ramesh said in a post on X on X.
Ramesh said that Rahul Gandhi had demanded a long -term caste census, repeatedly increasing the issue in public meetings.

“But how long the voice of the rights of crores of people can be suppressed? The Congress General Secretary said.
He said, “This is a decisive step towards ensuring social justice. It is a victory of crores of people in India. It is a win for all those who have fought for years to equality, equality and representation,” he said.
On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini, while briefing the media about the decisions made by Vaishnav, said that some states have conducted caste surveys, and organized a census in the central government sector.
He said that the Cabinet Committee (CCPA) on political matters has decided to include caste calculations in the upcoming census today.
Shri Vaishnav alleged that Congress governments have “always opposed the caste census”.
“Caste was not included in all census works held since independence. In 2010, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singhji assured the Lok Sabha that the case of caste census would be considered in the cabinet. A group of ministers was formed to consider the subject. Most political parties recommended a caste sensor. Vaishnav said.
Shri Vaishnav said that it will strengthen the social and economic structure of the society while the nation is moving forward.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs has decided today that the census of caste should be included in the upcoming census. It shows that the government is committed to the values and interests of the society and the country,” he said.
