New Delhi:
Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda has slammed the opposition Congress to rotate his words from a address that he gave to the volunteers who came for training in civil defense.
Shri Devda, referring to the Pahalgam terror attack in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor and later attacks of India, told the gathering that the people of India do “bow with the most respect on the feet of the armed forces”, and also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving a decisive response to Pakistan.
“We have seen [in Pahalgam] Tourists were thrown out, their religion was identified, women were taken aside and men were shot in front of their family members, in front of their children. Since then, the people of this country will not rest until we take revenge on the terrorists and those who support them, “said the Deputy Chief Minister.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response is commendable. The whole country today bends to the army’s feet. Please give him a big hand,” Mr. Devda said, and pointed to the audience to clap, which he did.
Sharing a clip of Shri Devda’s speech, the Congress alleged that the Deputy Chief Minister’s comment was “derogatory” and insulted the armed forces.
Shri Devda said that the Congress deliberately rotated its words such as the meaning of military bow at the feet of PM Modi, which was not clearly what he said.
He was appointed with the Supreme Court in today’s line following insensitive remarks on Indian Army officer Colonel Sophia Qureshi, which ordered him to “go and apologize” to the army officer.
Mr. Shah commented in a public address in Raikunda village of Indore on 12 May. The comments were widely considered derogatory to communal, gender, and Colonel Qureshi, a senior Indian Army officer who has become mainly in the National Press briefing on Operation Sindoor, often appearing with Foreign Secretary Vyamri Missory and Wing Commander Vyamika Singh.
