Jaipur:
A person was hung upside down with a rope from an earth in Beaver district and beaten on suspicion of cement theft, police said on Saturday.
The incident, which was caught in a video and attracted a strong condemnation from the Congress, led to the arrest of a person under Section 170 of BNS (arrest to prevent commission of cognizable offenses).
Sub-encoder Navy Kishore, posted at Rapur Police Station (Beaver), said that in the video, accused Tejpal Singh showed the person who attacked the earth with a rope with a rope.
He said, “The preliminary investigation shows that Tejpal tortured his driver Yakub on suspicion of diesel and cement. Tejpal ran a factory and sent the driver to Jaipur with a dumper loaded with cement about two and a half months ago.”
SHO said that the driver has not given any complaint yet.
Another official said, “Further action will be taken by the victim on FIR registration.”
The state Congress condemned the BJP government on this incident, crying poor laws and order.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot asked the government how long the “mafia rule” in Rajasthan would continue? “The public is asking that this scary sports will be played with the inclusion of police and administration?” He said in a post on X.
PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasara said, “Mafia’s hooliganism is at its peak in Rajasthan. In the weak BJP government, there is no fear of law on the mafia.” He said, “This inhuman and cruel incident has raised serious questions on law and order, police inaction and political security to criminals under BJP rule in the state.” Dotasara said the incident was a blot on the entire system.
“I demand the strict action of the state government in this matter and the layers of political security should be revealed. In addition, the role of the negligent local police in the incident should be investigated fairly,” he said.
Opposition leader Tikram Julie alleged that criminals had the protection of the state.
“It has crossed all boundaries of cruelty. It is not only the failure of the administration, but the real mirror of the government,” he said.
“How long will the mafia rule continue? In whose instability this open hooliganism is happening? Why is the police administration a silent spectator? He asked.
