Congress MP Rahul Gandhi Related to “cowardice” Terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir On Tuesday afternoon, and relieved from the earlier situation of terrorism, demanding accountability to the Center instead of “hollow claims” about restoring the general situation.
Mr. Gandhi said that the news of the attack on tourists was very heartfelt.
“… Instead of making hollow claims on the situation of normal in J&K, the government should now take accountability and take concrete steps, so there are no such barbaric events in the future, and innocent Indians do not lose their lives in this way,” he said.
The news of tourists being killed and many people being injured in a cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, is extremely condemnable and shocking.
I express deep condolences to the bereaved families and hope to recover the injured soon.

Mr. Gandhi’s party’s boss, Mallikrajun Kharge, and his sister and senior leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have also responded, called the attack “stain on humanity” and urged the ruling BJP to take decisive action against terrorists.

The Congress has demanded action from the BJP, which earlier said that it will erase terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Last month’s Home Minister Amit Shah spoke in Parliament last month and talked about how the Narendra Modi government brought peace to the Kashmir Valley.

Emotions have run high after the attack – the videos of which emerged showing women, with blood splash on their face, argued after shooting her husbands in front of her husband.
The disturbing scenes include a video of a woman standing next to a badly injured man, crying, “Please save my husband. For the sake of God, save her.” Other appeals are heard in other places.

Attack – The first major terrorist incident in J&K this year, and possibly 40 soldiers had been killed in Pulwama district in February 2019 – which took place in seconds before the outstanding bullets, a beautiful green valley bathed in a warm summer sun.
All of that changed at 3 pm. The terrorists reportedly dropped the hills and started firing.
‘Evil will never succeed’: PM
In a statement of strong words, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the attacks. Shri Modi, who is on a state trip to Saudi Arabia, spoke to Mr. Shah and instructed him to visit the place of attack personally.

The PM said on X, “Those people will not be spared behind this heinous act … their evil agenda will never succeed.”
J&K Chief Minister Abdullah – who led his national conference for a major victory in last year’s election, the first assembly survey after scraping of the center of the special status (ie, under Article 370) in 2019 – was more powerful, called it “a hatred”.

He said, “The criminals of this attack are animals, inhuman, and disqualified of contempt. No words of condemnation are enough. I send my sympathy to the families of the deceased,” he said.
Renewal of attacks on citizens?
Today’s horrific attack has been marked as a possible return to civilians shocking J&K last year. One of the deadliest in those attacks was in October, when six construction workers and a doctor were killed after terrorists set fire to a labor camp in Genderbel district.

A week ago, the body of a laborer from Bihar was found in Shopian district.
The attacks encouraged to roll a new security matrix to combat the targeting of citizens. The new grid, the government had said, will ensure the ‘surprise’ element required for any counter-terraler op.
