On 26 November 2008. After obtaining information by Mr. Bhavdhankar and his team the police, a check post was being done that the terrorists had left from Nariman Point.

Abu Ismail and Ajmal Kasab were running towards Girgaon Chaatatti in a kidnapped Skoda car. His team, he said, a message was received from the control room and two teams of eight police officers reached the checkpost.

While some people were standing behind the barricades, Mr. Bhavdhankar and some other people were standing in the road divider.

Skoda, he said, came at 12.30 pm and stopped 50 feet away from the checkpost. The driver, Abu Ismail did not listen to the police instructions and instead tried to take a U-turn at high speed.

“This was the only option for him, as other roads were stopped. They could only take a U-turn and go back to the Nariman Bind, from where he came,” said Mr. Bhavdhankar.

“On Abu Ismail’s instructions, Kasab took his Hungarian jacket and wiped the blood from his face. By that time, I was sure that he was a terrorist. I alerted my team and tried to set fire to Abu Ismail and set fire to Nab Abu Ismail. He immediately set fire.” He said. ”
