Death investigation in Madhya Pradesh Hospital


Damoh, Madhya Pradesh:

One person underwent 15 heart surgery in a prestigious hospital in Madhya Pradesh within two months. However, according to a complaint, he was not a cardiologist, but was introduced as just one. Complaints due to deaths at Mission Hospital in Damoh district between December 2024 and February 2025.

The accused, who is identified as Narendra Yadav, claimed to be a London -based cardiologist N John Camum. He has gone missing since a complaint was filed against him that it was claimed that patients had died due to their wrong treatment.

According to a complaint lodged in February with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the man misused the name of John Camem – a famous UK -based cardiologist – to mislead patients.

Meanwhile, the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Mukesh Jain and District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Vikram Chauhan has so far confirmed two deaths due to alleged negligence.

Damoh Collector Sudhir Kochhar said that a special team has been formed to investigate the matter, the investigation has not been completed, refusing any comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, the revelation has shocked families who lost their loved ones during treatment at the hospital.

The 63 -year -old mother of Nabi Qureshi, Rahesa, was admitted to the Mission Hospital on 13 January after suffering a heart attack. On 14 January, an angiography was done on him. On 16 January, two days later, he passed by Angioplasty on 16 January, during which he was allegedly suffering a massive heart attack and was kept on ventilator support. He died shortly after.

“We were told that she died of a heart attack, so we did not go for postmortem,” Nabi Qureshi told NDTV. “But we later learned from the media that a fake doctor was working on patients. Nobody has talked to us to the hospital or administration till now.”

‘Came for gas problems, died after heart surgery’

In another case, Jitendra Singh of Patera alleged that his father Mangal Singh was admitted to the hospital on 4 February for an issue related to gas. An angiography was performed, and heart surgery was recommended. Mr. Singh said, “He died within hours of surgery.” “The doctors were unavailable before and after the operation. He asked us to buy an injection of Rs 8,000, but never administered it.”

A team of NHRC will visit Damoh from 7 to 9 April to investigate the matter. The investigation team will investigate the institution and persons mentioned in the complaint, including administrative officials, NHRC member Priyank Kanongo said.
