Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to participate in Russia's victory day parade

Russia has invited leaders of many favorable nations to participate in this year’s Victory Day Parade.


New Delhi:

Official sources said on Wednesday that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will represent India in Russia’s Victory Day Parade on 9 May.

Russia invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a grand parade in Moscow, but India told Russia that Singh would join it.

A source said, “The Prime Minister was invited to attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow. The Russian side was first informed that India would be represented by Defense Minister Singh.”

Russia has invited leaders of many favorable nations to participate in this year’s Victory Day Parade.

Modi visited Russia twice last year for an annual summit with President Vladimir Putin and attended the BRICS summit in Kazan.

The Russian President is expected to visit India for the annual summit this year.
