Delhi Airport resumes general operations, issues travel advisors for passengers


New Delhi:

Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi resumed normal operations in the early hours of Saturday and issued a advice to passengers amidst the preparation of security due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan.

In its latest travel advisor, the airport said, “The operations of the Delhi Airport are currently normal. However, due to the orders of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, due to changing the airspace situation and increasing safety measures, some flight schedules may be affected, and the security checkpoint processing time may be longer.”

The airport operator advised the passengers, including, which includes, “be informed with their airlines updated. Hand baggage and check-in goods follow the rules. Reach early to allow a possible delay in security check. Complaint with the airline and security staff for smooth processing. Check the situation through the airline or the official deleh airport website.”

“We encourage all passengers to rely on official sources and avoid sharing rejected materials for accurate information,” the advisor said.

Earlier, Airports Authority of India (AAI) and relevant aviation officials have issued a series of notice to Airmen (NOTAMS), announcing the temporary closure of 32 airports in northern and western India for all civil flight operations.

Notam is effective from May 9, 2025 to May 14, 2025 (which matches 0529 IST on 15 May 2025), for operational reasons.

The list of 32 airports includes Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Avantpur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod Kishungar, Bhanti, Bhanti, Bhunuri, Bhunuri, Bhunuri, Bhunuri, Bhunuri, Bhunuri, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thois and Uttaralai.
