New Delhi:
Dusu President Ronak Khatri on Tuesday threw cow dung on the walls of the office of the Principal of Laxmibai College, extended a line, which was ignited after being caught on the walls of the video coating orbit with cow dung for “cool”.
In the video, widely shared on social media, Principal Pratyush Vatsala was seen in the coating of the class walls with cow dung.
Khatri, arguing with a faculty member inside the principal’s office, told PTI video, “There was no consent from students for such an initiative.”
“If you want to do research, do it at your home,” he said.
The principal told PTI on 13 April that the faculty -led initiative was part of the ongoing research aimed at discovering indigenous and sustainable cooling techniques.
There was no immediate response to the university regarding Tuesday’s incident.
In a post on X, Khatri referred to the principal’s viral video and sarcastically stated that he and his supporters had also gone to “help” their office walls.
“We are confident that Madam will now be removed from his room and hand over it to the students, and will run a college in this modern and natural calm environment, which is stained with cow dung,” he wrote.
In defense of his now-viral video, on 13 April, Principal Vatsala said it was part of an ongoing research project held in Porta cabins.
“This is subject to the process. I will be able to share the details of complete research after a week,” he said, saying that the wrong information was spreading without full reference.
“There is no harm in touching natural mud,” he said.
The principal allegedly shared the video in the WhatsApp group of a teacher, given that the indigenous method was being used to cool classes in the C block.
“People who have classes here will soon get these rooms in a new form. Efforts are being made to make your teaching experience pleasant,” she wrote.
The administration says that this method is part of scientific investigation in permanent practices amid rising temperatures in the capital.
