Officials said the first dedicated brain health clinic of Delhi has been established at Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka.
The clinic inaugurated by Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh on Saturday promised “district-level access” for neurological treatment and rehabilitation within next year.
Established under Brain Health Initiative of India with support from NITI Aayog and technical partner IHBAS, Clinic will offer screening and therapy for stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson, dementia, migraine and other disorders, as well as a statement for consultation and tele-neurology links with consultation with consultation.
Singh said, “This is not just a facility, this is a mission. Whenever you face a brain related problem, come here. Do not hide the treatment or delay. Similar centers will be opened in every district,” Singh said.
The statement said that neurological conditions are already the second largest reasons in the world and are the main reasons for the years of disability.
Delhi has planned to repeat the Dwarka model in all 11 districts of the capital, which combines clinics with lifestyle-modification counseling and caregiver support, while IHBAS will train employees and monitor the results.
This initiative is alignd with the recommendations of NITI Aayog’s National Task Force on Brain Health under the chairmanship of IHBAS director Rajinder Kumar Dhamija.
The statement said that it supports Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s commitment to the creation of a “ready” health system.
