Delhi to implement integrated health information system in all hospitals


New Delhi:

Health Minister Pankaj Singh said on Thursday that it will implement a comprehensive health management information system (HMIS) towards digital transformation in Healthcare.

He said that as part of the scheme, a centralized healthcare control room that is equipped with a strong dashboard for monitoring real -time data such as bed availability, drug stock, clinical trends and resource usage, will be installed in all Delhi hospitals, he said.

The system will also facilitate centralized alert and will generate actionable insights for decision making and improving governance.

Singh said, “We are working towards a single digital health forum, where real-time data from all hospitals including primary health centers and super-specialty hospitals can be seen through an integrated dashboard,” Singh said.

He said that it would eliminate disabilities, strengthen doctors, and provide comfortable access to each citizen’s care.

Ayushman Bharat will introduce digital equipment for HMIS Digital Mission (ABDM), HMIS patient registration, appointments, billing, diagnosis, ward management, and more.

Patients will be able to reach tips, lab reports and discharge summary through mobile applications and WhatsApp.

This system will also allow the consent-based digital sharing of health records using ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ID to ensure privacy and inter-interaction.

The Health Department said in a statement that voice-to-text transcription for prescriptions, performance analytics for doctors, and the use of medicine and data on diagnostic loads will further increase the efficiency and accountability within the data healthcare system.

The minister also inspected the Janakpuri Super Specialty Hospital, and said, “It is our priority that better treatment and facilities are available for the patients. I assure Delhi’s rights that I will work towards restoring the previous glory of the hospital”.

Singh presided over a review meeting with senior officials of the Health Department to discuss the National Informatics Center (NIC), Center for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), and HMIS rolout and the roadmap for Associated Digital Infrastructure.
