Washington:
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday reiterated his claim that he “settled” the recent struggle between India and Pakistan through “trade”.
Trump said in a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramfosa in the oval office, “If you take a look at whatever you do with Pakistan and India. We resolved that whole, and I think I resolved it through business,” Trump said in a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramposa.
He said that America is doing “big talk” with both India and Pakistan.
“And I said, ‘What are you guys doing?”, Trump said.
“Somebody was to be the last to shoot. But the shooting countries were getting worse and worse, big and worse, deep and deep. And we talked to him, and I think we, you, you know, I hate to say that we have settled it, and then two days later, something happens, and they say that Trump’s mistake.
“But … Pakistan has found some excellent people and some really good, great leaders. And India is my friend, Modi,” Trump said that the South African President replied “Modi, mutual friend”.
“He is a great boy and I called them both. It’s something good,” said Trump.
