Drone destroys air defense radar

While Pakistan was trying to attack military installations in India using missiles and drones to walk the second night, and failed, the Indian armed forces launched drones on four sites in the country and destroyed an air defense radar. It marks a second successful hit on one air defense system in Pakistan over several days.

Addressing a Ministry of External Affairs of the Defense Press Conference on Friday, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said that on Thursday and Friday night, the Pakistani Army committed several violations of the Indian airship along with the western border with the intention of targeting military infrastructure.

Drone infiltration, he said, attempts were made at 36 places from Leh to Sir Creek in Gujarat with 300-400 drones, many of which were brought down by the Indian armed forces.

“The potential objective of these massive aerial infiltration was to test air defense systems and gather intelligence information,” the Wing Commander said.

Wing Commander Singh said that an armed unmanned air vehicle (UAV) also attempted to target Bathinda Military Station, which was detected and neutralized.

“In response to the Pakistani attack, armed drones were launched at four air defense sites in Pakistan. One of the drones was able to destroy the air defense radar,” he said.

Successful strike in an air defense radar, experts said, it is important because it acts as the metaphor of the system as the eye. Not having a working radar cripple the air defense system as it cannot find a lock on upcoming missiles and drones.

After Pakistan’s first unsuccessful attempt to attack establishments in 15 cities including Chandigarh, Srinagar and Bhuj, India launched Charan 2 of Operation Sindoor on Thursday morning, targeting air defense systems in Pakistan. At least one such system, in Lahore, had become neutralized.

Wing Commander Singh said on Friday that India strongly responded to violation of control by Pakistan on the line of control. “Pakistan’s army also suffered a major loss in the Indian vengeful fire,” the Wing Commander said.

Further action?

Answering a question on the same press briefing, how India would respond to Pakistan’s latest misunderstanding, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the action by New Delhi has been “responsible and enough”.

“As far as a response (for Pakistan attacks) is concerned, you have been told in briefing and I have also said that the activities that happened this morning, India has responded to a responsible and adequately (‘Paryapt’) Methods, “He said in Hindi.
