The Institute of Symological Research (ISR) said that a shock of 3.4 magnitude in the early hours of Saturday killed North Gujarat.
According to district officials, there was no report of casualties or property loss.
ISR said in its latest report that Banskantha trembles with its subscriber near VAV in the district.
The institute in Gandhinagar said that the tremor was recorded at a depth of 4.9 km, about 27 km east-east-east (ene).
According to the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA), Gujarat is a high earthquake-risk area and has faced nine major earthquakes in the last 200 years.
On January 26, 2001, earthquake in Kutch, according to GSDMA, was the third largest and second largest in India in the last two centuries.
A large number of towns and villages in the district were almost completely destroyed in the earthquake, killing about 13,800 people and injuring 1.67 lakh others.
