After filing a complaint against filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap for its controversial remarks about the Brahmin community, the JMFC Court in Surat has issued a notice against Mr. Kashyap, in which he has been ordered to appear in court on 7 May.
This notice was issued on the basis of a complaint filed by the Brahmin community from Surat, a lawyer Kamlesh Rawal. Rawal said that he presented Mr. Kashyap’s posts and proofs on social media for his apology, which the court accepted the notice and issued a notice. Mr. Kashyap or his lawyer should appear in court on 7 May, and if they do not, the court can give a unilateral decision.
Highlighting the matter further, Rawal told IANS, “On 16 April, Mr. Kashyap made an objectionable remarks about the Brahmin community, and Aditya Dutta asked him to avoid such comments.
Reacting to this, Mr. Kashyap had said – what have you completed Brahmins? Now, I have filed a complaint in Surat Court under SEC BNS of 196, 197, 351, 352, 353, and 356. After verifying and cross-checking all the documents I presented by me, the court has given Mr. Kashyap a notice to appear in court on 7 May. ,
Another complaint was filed against Mr. Kashyap in Mumbai by RTI activist Atish Tiwari.
Refusing his memory, the ‘Gangs of Wasipur’ manufacturer wrote, “Brahmin Pay Main M ******* A..y problem (I will urinate on Brahmins … no problem)?” In response to Mr. Kashyap’s comment comment, “Brahmins are your father.”
This comment of the filmmaker received a lot of backlash from the neat.
Mr. Kashyap later released an apology on social media, which said that whatever he says and he does not want to take it back.
