Forest guard thrash for attempting to rape minor in Rajasthan: Police


Jaipur:

Police said that a forest guard of the Ranthmbore Tiger Reserve was allegedly caught trying to rape a minor girl and was somehow landed by villagers in Sawai Madhopur district on Monday.

He said the 17 -year -old girl jumped into a well, but was rescued with minor injuries.

He said that the guard, identified as Mukesh Gurjar (41), was detained and undergoing treatment.

According to Ravanjana Dungar station house officer Hariman Meena, the girl went into the forest on Monday when the guard tried to rape her. When she cries loudly, the villagers participated on the spot, grabbed Gurjar and threw him.

Meanwhile, the girl jumped a well nearby, but one leg survived with injuries, he said.

SHO said that Gurjar was admitted to the district hospital, from where he was sent to Jaipur in a critical condition.

He said that a case of attempt to rape has been registered against Gurjar on the basis of the complaint of the girl’s family. Currently, no complaints have been filed by the forest guard, he said.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena, who was on a visit to Sawai Madhopur District Hospital to meet some people injured in a road accident, inquired about the forest guard and a minor girl when they were informed about the incident.
