Former Karnataka police chief killed a death knife in Bangalore’s house

Former Karnataka police chief Om Prakash was found dead in the Bengaluru house on Sunday. Police said he was 68 years old. There was blood everywhere on the floor, where his body was found with many knife wounds on his stomach and chest.

Sources said that his wife, Pallavi, daughter and another family members were at home at the time of the incident. All three are being questioned. Sources said that the police control room received a call from another person, in which the body has been told.

According to sources, Prakash and his wife often quarreled.

Bengaluru Additional Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar said that it seems that a sharp weapon was used to attack the retired police officer.

“Around 4-4.30 pm today, we came to know about the death of our former DGP and IGP Om Prakash. His son has been contacted and he is complaining against the incident, and based on that, an FIR will be registered,” Mr. Kumar told reporters.

“Once the case is registered, a detailed investigation will be done … immediately, no arrest. Initial investigation suggests that things can be internal in nature … it seems that some sharp weapons have been used, which caused so much blood damage that it caused death,” he said.

The police have started questioning Pallavi and his daughter.

He lived on the ground floor of his three -storey house in HSR layout in Bangalore.

Police said they suspect the participation of a family member, the news agency PTI.

The dead body has been sent for examination.

Om Prakash was an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1981 batch.

He was appointed Director General of Police in March 2015. Earlier, he also led fire and emergency services and home guards.
