Gate No. 2 of Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) metro station of Delhi has been closed and public movement has been banned around the region as Tahavur Hussain Rana will be taken to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) office on Thursday in 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
Tahwur Hussain Rana is being brought to India on a special flight after the US Supreme Court rejected his final appeal against extradition.
A spokesman for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said, “Gate No. 2 of JLN Metro Station, which is closest to NIA building, will remain closed as a precaution.” He said that metro train services will continue as usual and all other entry and exit points at the station will be open for passengers.
64 -year -old Tahwur Hussain Rana is a close associate of David Coleman Headley, also known as Dawood Gilani and one of the main conspirators in the 2008 attacks.
On November 26, 2008, Mumbai terror attacks were involved in 10 Pakistani militants who carried a coordinated attacks at several places – including a railway station, two luxury hotels and a Jewish center – after reaching Mumbai through the Arabian Sea.
The attack lasted for about 60 hours and claimed 166 lives.
