Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Quilla (Golden Fort), is usually illuminated at night, which makes a magnificent golden glow that appears from miles away.

Rajasthan has more than 1,000 km long border with Pakistan. Since yesterday evening, a sense of vigilance has increased in Rajasthan. During a blackout, all the cars on the road were still standing and waiting for the next signal.

All the border districts including Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Ganganagar have been asked to go for a blackout, which starts from midnight and lasts till 4 am. If people have inverters, they have been asked to close the lights. All hospitals including Public Health Center (PHCs) and Community Health Center (CHCS) are ensuring that they have adequate medicines and required medical supply stocks.

All schools in the border districts are closed.
