Google Pixel 10 is rumored in series development. A company official has now teased the upgrade related to the display technology that the smartphone can debut later this year. While the screen in the Pixel 9A, including the new Pixel 9A, is called one of the best in the business, pulse width modulation (PWM) issues related to the demolition rate is widely known, something that has been promised to fix the alleged Pixel 10.

The Google Pixel 9A has a fresh rate with a 6.3-inch (1.080×2,424 pixel) actua (pod) display that is between 60Hz and 120Hz and 2,700 NITs peaks. To excel in the display test, with other handsets of brands such as Pixel phones, Apple and Samsung, use a technique called PWM Dimping. This essentially controls the light source in the display to create the illusion of the difference in the level of brightness.
Although it is said to help provide persistent colors and efficiency, screen with low PWM dimming rate, such as the pixel 9 lineup with 240Hz rating, is known to induce headache, migraine and even blurred vision.
Fasting Questioned A Google Officer about PWM dimming rate-related issues on the Pixel phone, in which he said “teams know and are investigating it”. In addition, the company’s representative stated that the users can “expect updates at the end of this year”. Although they clearly do not specify the devices that will come up with the fix, it indicates the mountain view-based tech veteran to the possible reforms being made to improve the issue on the future handsets, most likely that Google PIXEL 10 series.
Interestingly, many Chinese OEMs are equipped with high-existing screen to reduce this problem. Xiaomi 15 uses 1920Hz PWM dimensions, while the profit of Oppo X8 Pro detects 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology. In comparison, even the top-of-the-line Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has a screen with a 492Hz PWM rate, much lower than its Chinese competitors.
