Chandigarh:
A college student was arrested from Haryana on suspicion of spying and passing sensitive information from Haryana, this week the second arrest from the state was marked from the state which remains calm at one time with the India-Pakistan border.
Devendra Singh Dhilan, a 25 -year -old student of political science at Khalsa College, Patiala, was arrested from Kaithal to upload pistols and guns on his Facebook account on 12 May. During interrogation, it was revealed that he went to Pakistan through Karatpur Corridor in November last year and was sharing sensitive information with officials of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence Agency.
The intelligence officials of the neighboring country had allegedly spent a lot of money to inspire Dhillon. Kaithal Superintendent of Police Aastha Modi said that the first year Masters student along with Pakistan officials also shared images of Patiala military cantonment.
His phone has been confiscated and sent for forensic investigation. In addition, his bank account is being investigated to find out the money between him and Pakistani officials.
Dhillon was arrested a few days after the 24 -year -old Naaman Elahi was arrested in similar allegations. Native of Uttar Pradesh, who was working as a security guard in Haryana, received money from agents in the account of his brother -in -law and company driver to inform Pakistan. Additionally, the Punjab Police last week arrested two persons, including a woman, for his alleged involvement in the espionage activities associated with a Pakistani officer posted in Delhi in Delhi.
The crack on cross-border spying collapses along the border from May 10, when India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement after India’s 7 May Operation Sindoor, leading to military attacks on nine terrorist goals in Pakistan and Pakistan-Kabje Kashmir. There was an increase in tensions that have been created since the Pahlgam attack of 22 April, across the border, in which 26 civilians were killed.
