He has Pakistan links, Himant Sarma removed Gaurav Gogoi from the chief delegation on Operation Sindoor

Guwahati:

The Congress party, after joining an all-party delegation to nominate Assam MP Gaurav Gogoi, would travel abroad to convince India’s situation on terrorism emanating from Pakistan, Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma raised a strong objection, stating that it was said that Mr. Gogoi should not be included in “sensitive and strategic assignments.

Mr. Sarma said in a post on X, “One of the nominated MPs in the list (from Assam) has not denied his long stay in Pakistan – allegedly for two weeks – and reliable documents suggest that his wife was working in India and pulling salary from a Pakistan -based NGO.”

“Beyond the interest of national security and beyond biased politics, I urge the leader of opposition Mr. Rahul Gandhi not to include this person in such sensitive and strategic assignments,” said Mr. Sarma.

The Chief Minister’s comment came in response to a post of Congress leader Jeram Ramesh, who announced the names of four Congress MPs nominated for the delegation.

“As you know that the delegation has to visit various countries to brief against Pakistan, and the idea is to highlight Pakistan, but this Assam MP is siding with Pakistan. He has ever directly accused Pakistan,” Mr. Sarma told reporters.

“We have informed that he visits Pakistan … We have evidence that his wife was paid by a Pakistan-based NGO for at least two years. This NGO is very close to ISI. How can he go out and expose Pakistan under these circumstances?
