Alden Ring Developer FromSoftware announced that he was working on a special game for Nintendo Switch 2 called The Dakblas at Nintendo Direct Shocks last week. The revelation of a surprise in Switch 2 Livestream, Dusklus is set to launch on the new console in 2026. FromSoftware confirmed that the game was a multiplayer title that focused on PVPV action. However, the studio president Hidetka Miyajaki has clarified that the company will not go away from a single-player title.
FromSoftware will create single-player game
In a manufacturer’s voice Interview After a direct presentation, with Nintendo, Miyanaki, who also works as a game director on dusk, said that Fresoftware has intended to actively develop a single-player game.
The Alden Ring Director stated that he always found the PVPVE structure “very interesting”, and it enabled the studios to test various types of game-design ideas, while also taking advantage of his experience of designing the challenging enemy’s encounters.
“As a side note, please allow me to address one thing. As mentioned earlier, it is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this does not mean that we have decided to move in a more multiplayer-centric direction as a company, with the title with moving,” Miyanaki said in an interview.
He said, “Nintendo Switch 2 version of Alden Ring was also announced, and we still intend to actively develop single player -focused games, which embrace our more traditional style,” he said.

Miazaki’s comments follow two game declarations from Shiivesoftware that are far from the studio’s traditional single-player design.
At the Game Awards 2024, from from from from the Eldon Ring Nitrigan, a standalone multiplayer co-up action survival title, which features the PVE Combat set in the world produced in a procedurally generated world. However, the chairman of the FromSoftware has not shared details about the next single-Khiladi project of the studio. In December 2024, Miazaki said that there was no plan for the Alden Ring Sequel in the studio.
“We have no special plans for Eldon Ring 2,” Miyajaki allegedly said the Playstation Partner Awards 2024 at the Japan Asia event. The Sports Director, however, did not deny the detail of the alden ring IP in other formats. Miyamaki said at that time, “I would like to tell you that we are not ruling the development of IP ‘Alden Ring’ in some form or the other in future.”
