How the Massuru man survived the Pahgam attack

A software engineer from Karnataka shared an account of another survivor from Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people were killed in a massive terror attack. Prasanna Kumar Bhat shared the X how he survived the deadly terrorist attack with his family and about 35-40 others, on 22 April.

Recalling the horror in a detailed social media post, Prasanna Kumar Bhat wrote, “We are scary to tell the story of whether it can only be described as a demonic acting and the heavenly beauty blood-red can be painted with hell.”

In his post, Mr. Bhat claimed that his brother, a senior Indian Army officer, saved the lives of about 40 people by guiding him for safety. “By the grace of God, fate, and some quick thinking with an army officer not only saved our lives, but also saved the lives of another 35-40 people that day,” he wrote.

Mr. Bhat shared that he reached the beautiful Baisran Valley, with his wife, brother and sister -in -law on the afternoon of 22 April after postponing his journey for two days due to bad weather. They were enjoying themselves, when around 2.25 pm, they heard the first two bullets. “It was after a pin drop silence for a minute and everyone was understanding what happened and the children playing around were still enjoying the best picnic of their lives,” he said.

In a few moments, he and his family saw two bodies, and his brother “immediately knew that it was a terrorist attack”, he wrote. “Then the hell broke, the gunshot was torn and chaos. The crowd of the crowd was screaming loudly and walking for life,” his post read.

“So most of the crowd ran towards the gate to escape, where the terrorists were already waiting, as we could see the sheep running in the tigers. We are coming in our direction to a terrorist, so we decided to run in another way and fortunately we got a narrow inauguration under the fence and Mr. Bhat said.

He said that his brother quickly assessed the situation and in the opposite direction, along with 35–40 tourists, directed his family. He said, “He guided people to run in the down direction, where there was firing.

“We four managed to take a cover in a narrow pit under trees from a distance of a few hundred meters from a place of strict prayer for our life. The sound of gun shots echoed through the valley for half an hour till 3 pm,” he continued.

“We were put in the pit for an hour, disappointing, and praying for safety. We didn’t know if we have to stay in one place or run in some random direction, who are expecting to escape from the trap of death. Thinking about our young children and parents, thinking about our young children and parents, we were left behind the house and did not know when it would end,” said.

It will leave a permanent mark, a memory that cannot be hidden under the beauty of Kashmir,” he wrote.

“I pray that no one does not have to go through such an experience of terror in their life. We pray for their souls and I hope God will provide justice to them. In the end I want to express my gratitude for my brother and the entire Indian Army, due to which we are alive to personally narrate the incident and come back with our family,” Mr. Bhat wrote, he and his family have returned to me.
