Indian Institute of Technology Madras has launched two new graduate engineering courses for the educational year 2025-26. Applied mechanics and biomedical engineering departments are offering these programs. Those who achieve JEE (Advanced) qualification will be eligible to choose the option of these programs during the upcoming Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) consultation. Each of them will accommodate a total of 40 students.

BTECH at Computestical Engineering and Mechanics (CEM) | Course Code: 412U
This four -year program prepares students for a career at the intersection of physical systems and digital technologies including AI. It combines core engineering principles with modern computational tools such as machine learning, data science and high-demonstration computing.
Students will also receive basic training in solid and fluid mechanics, electrical circuits, signals, embedded systems, material science and mobility.
Graduates can detect opportunities in areas such as aerospace, robotics, automotive, manufacturing and digital twin systems, smart infrastructure and durable technologies.
BTECH in Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering (IBME)
This four -year course equips students to develop medical devices by integrating biomedical engineering with electrical and instrumentation foundation.
The course includes core engineering concepts with applications in AI, IOT and connected healthcare. The graduation will be trained to designing clinically approved, morally responsible solutions for real -world health care challenges. Career Path includes roles in medical equipment innovation, AI-run health systems, rehabilitation technology and healthcare entrepreneurship.
