Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday broke the death of children during unsafe firing by Pakistan, and called for political intervention to resolve new tensions that catching India and neighboring country.
At a press conference in Srinagar, Ms. Mufti, who heads the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in J&K, referred to the terror attacks of Pulwama (2019) and Pahgam (2025) and said the events brought the country to the brink of “destruction”.
He also expressed concern over military functions by India and Pakistan, saying that it is often children and women who are often trapped in a crossfire.
“I saw twins playing in a moment and saw that their bodies saw soaked in the next blood. What is the mistake of these children and women who are only trapped in the crossfire?” He said.
“This is to play the age of their (children killed in firing) … How long will it last? How long will the people of Jammu and Kashmir be suffering, especially for people living in the border areas? How long our mothers’ laps will be emptied,” he said, he became emotional and broke abundantly.

Following Ms. Mufti’s comment, Pakistani troops resorted to firing and shelling in Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu districts, which intervened on Thursday and Friday night, motivated the Indian Army to counter action.
In addition, Pakistan made another bid to target military installations using Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat along with drones and missiles in the central region. According to the Ministry of Defense, the hazards were rapidly neutralized. No immediate information was available on the number of casualties due to firing or missile and drone strikes.
Mehboba Mufti condemns military action
Citizens are being killed on both sides of Jammu and Kashmir, Ms. Mufti said. He said, “He has not started this war, it is not happening due to his wish, but he is still paying a big price.”
Ms. Mufti condemned military action by both sides, saying that it does not ensure peace and harmony. He said, “Pulwama and Pahgam are two incidents that have brought both countries to the verge of destruction. If it continues in this way, there is a threat to the whole world,” he said.
He said, “It is Kargil, Pulwama, Pahalgam or Pathankot, we have seen that whenever a military action is taken, it only treats symptoms, it does not treat the root cause of the problem. It does not bring any solution and does not help maintain permanent peace,” he said.
Appeal to India, Pak leadership
The former J&P Chief Minister said that India is emerging as a major force in the world and internal situation is not good in Pakistan. “I appeal under the leadership of both sides to end this attack … I appeal to Pakistan’s leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who promised that the war of war is over … If both the Prime Ministers can only pick up the phone and solve this struggle,” he said.
Ms. Mufti insisted that there is an immediate need for restraint. “The leadership of the two countries should make up its mind and think seriously about increasing the situation.”
What happened last night?
Several cities of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat made siren and implemented siren after launching several attacks by siren and Pakistan’s armed forces on military infrastructure along the entire western border using drones and other sages.
