Alternative Flight Road results in additional flight time up to 1.5 hours

Pakistan said on Thursday that it would prevent Indian airlines from using their airspace

Mumbai/New Delhi:

Indian Airlines are expected to face additional weekly expenses of Rs 77 crore for international flights run from North Indian cities as an increase in fuel consumption and long flight periods as a result of airplane caps.

The analysis of the number of foreign flights and an increased analysis of the number of back-off-the-loafhope calculations, as well as the projected expenses by PTI showed that the additional monthly operating costs could exceed Rs 306 crore.

The alternative flight road is as a result of additional flight time for international flights from Delhi and Northern Indian cities.

A senior airline industry official, who has comprehensive experience on the commercial side, told PTI that the extra time for a 16 -hour flight for North America would be around 1.5 hours.

The official said that for 1.5 additional hours, the cost would be around Rs 29 lakhs, including landing and parking charges due to a technical stop at the airport.

Similarly, the additional flight time for a 9 -hour flight for Europe will be around 1.5 hours, and the additional cost will be around Rs 22.5 lakh.

In the case of the Middle East flights, the extra time will be around 45 minutes, and the resulting cost will be around 5 lakh rupees, the official said.

Indian carriers are determined to operate more than 6,000 flights for various international destinations in April in a way, showing data from the aviation analytics firm Sirium.

More than 800 weekly flights are operated by Indian Airlines from North Indian cities and to foreign destinations, including North America, UK, Europe and Middle East, according to the analysis of sirium data.

There are more than 3,100 flights in both ways a month, and on a weekly basis, the count comes in around 800 flights.

Among the total monthly flights, approximately 1,900 are operated with narrow body planes and some wide body planes in the Middle East. Considering the additional cost of Rs 5 lakh per flight for an additional 45 minutes, the total expenditure will be around Rs 90 crore.

In relation to Europe and North America, a total of two-way flights are around 1,200. The total amount will be around Rs 306 crore per month, depending on an additional flight time of Rs 29 lakh for North America services and a cost of Rs 22 lakh for Europe flights.

According to the analysis, the total additional monthly expenditure will be around Rs 307 crore and Rs 77 crore on weekly basis. These figures are based on some estimate.

In addition to high fuel consumption, long -flying hours also face the flying duty time limiting challenges of the crew for airlines along with issues of payload and aircraft availability.

On 25 April, IndiGo stated that about 50 international routes run by it would require longer areas and therefore some may be subject to minor schedule adjustments.

“With the same restriction and limited reconsideration options, unfortunately, the current fleet of the Almitt and Tashkent Indigo is beyond the operational range,” it said in a statement.

Flights to the Almaty Stand were canceled from 27 April till at least 7 May and from 28 April to 7 May from 7 May.

Air India, Air India Express, SpiceJet and Akasa Air have not announced the cancellation of flights due to airplane caps.

Air India widebody operates A350s, B777S and B787s, while IndiGo B787 and B777 are leased. The remaining carriers operate the Ayar India Express, SpiceJet and Akasa Air-Note Body Aircraft such as A320s, A321S and B737S.
