Markz Taiba in MuridK since 2000 is an important training and ideological center for Lashkar-e-Taiba (Late) in Pakistan. This feature supports several activities, with arms training, physical fitness programs and religious fundamentalist efforts both local and internationally targets recruits. The Center involves around 1,000 students each year in various courses. Satellite imagery has revealed a large -scale infrastructure of the complex, with severe damage after target attacks with several buildings.
Located at a distance of 18-25 km inside Pakistan, this facility was a training ground for criminals of 2008 Mumbai attacks, including Ajmal Kasab and David Headley. Additionally, the historical record indicates that Osama bin Laden contributed millions to fund the construction of a mosque and guesthouse within the Marks Taiba Complex.

Other places targeted in the operation included Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Rawalkot, Chakswari, Bimber, Neelam Valley, Jhelum and Chakwal.
