An intelligence bureau (IB) officer from Hyderabad is one of the tourists killed in a terrorist attack in Kashmir on Tuesday.
Manish Ranjan, a native of Bihar, was shot dead in front of his wife and children.

The family was in the Basaron Valley of Pahalgam, along with several other tourists, known as ‘Mini Switzerland’, when terrorists attacked him.
Manish Ranjan was posted in the ministerial section of IB’s Hyderabad office.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy shocked the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Condemning the heinous act strongly, CM Revantha Reddy said that such cowardly attacks cannot shake the spirit and flexibility of the Indian people.
He urged the central government to take strict action against the terrorist groups involved in it.
CM Revantha Reddy prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives to rest in peace and expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has also condemned a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
“In Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in depth from terrorist attack on innocent tourists. I condemn this sensitive act of violence in the strongest words. My heartfelt condolences to those families who have lost their loved ones, and I pray for early recovery of the injured,” CM Nidu X.
Andhra Pradesh Vice President Pawan Kalyan also condemned the terrorist attack.

The deputy CM said, “The deaths of 27 innocent tourists and the injuries of 20 others are extremely terrible. I wish my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and fast recovery of the injured,” the deputy CM said.
The leader of the Jan Sena said that despite the continuous efforts by the Central Government to counter terrorism in all forms, such incidents under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have remained a matter of serious concern.
He urged the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to ensure complete coordination with central forces and take strict measures to protect the lives of tourists and local citizens.
“Our country and all its citizens will stand in full support of any decisive action taken by the Central Government to eliminate terrorist threats and ensure national security,” he said.
Bharat President Samathi (BRS) executive president KT Ram Rao said that he was deeply saddened and suffering from the tragic loss of life in the horrific terrorist attack.
“My heartfelt condolences to the families of tourists who lost their lives. I strongly condemn this cowardly work of violence and urge the Government of India to ensure justice for families suffering from the Government of India.”
