According to Counterpoint Research, Apple topped the global list of the best -selling smartphones in Q1 2025. The Cupertino-based company led the Global smartphone shipment in Q1 2025, with five iPhone models in the top 10. The iPhone 16, launched in 2024, was the top-bound phone, followed by iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro in second and third place respectively. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 ranks seventh in the ultra list. Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s Redmi 14C Top 10 had the only non-popular or non-surface device.
iPhone 16 leads global smartphone sales

The iPhone 16 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 Pro came in second and third position respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro model made approximately 50 percent of Apple’s total iPhone sales for the third straight quarter. Chinese government subsidy for sub-CNY 6,000 (about Rs 71,000) tools and intense competition from brands such as Huawei affected the sale of the iPhone 16 Pro series in China.
The counterpoint states that the iPhone 16E was unveiled in March this year, also made the list. It ranked sixth in the top 10 best selling smartphones. The iPhone 16 Plus managed to grab 10th place.
Samsung Bag 4 spots in top 10
Samsung had a low model in the top 10 compared to the same period last year. While the overall stake of the top 10 smartphones in global sales remained stable, the low-end model saw an increase in their contribution.
Samsung’s premium offering, Galaxy S25 Ultra, finished seventh in the list, slipping from the fifth place organized by the Galaxy S24 Ultra a year ago. The decline in sales was due to a small sales window for the phone during the quarter. The Galaxy S25 series is for one-fourth of Samsung’s total smartphone sales in its active sale month.
Popularly inspired in budget segment and comprehensive availability, the Galaxy A16 came in fifth place in the 5G list. The handset transferred a location from the Galaxy A15 5G rankings in Q1 2024.
The Galaxy A06 caught the sixth position in the list. Counterpoint notes have shifted four places to the top -10 list compared to its predecessor in the last year Q1. This growth was increased by an increase in demand for low-end smartphones in all areas. The Galaxy A55 5G ranks ninth.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s Redmi 14C Top 10 had the only non-popular and non-affectionate device, its most sales coming from emerging regions such as the Middle East and Africa and Latin America. It came in eighth place.
