IQO Z10X first impression | Gadget 360

The Z9X of IQO was a little competitive in terms of price, but only stood out due to its battery life and fast charging capabilities. Its cameras were very basic, and the same can be said about its software, which was loaded into the brim with blotware and pushed spamy information. Nearly a year later, we have a successor, and it is called IQO Z10x. It seems that IQO did its homework this time, as the Z10X appears ready to deal with the competition.

The rear panel is made of polycarbonate and has a matte finish, which does not lift smashes and dust.

Outside the box, the design of the IQO Z10X looks much better than the phone he replaces. It has flat sides in the middle-frame (made of polycarbonate), but the panel behind it is given a curved treatment near the edges. We received the phone in its Ultmarine Finnish for review, which has lavender -like color. However, IQO has added some details in the form of a wave -like texture, which appears when the phone is turned. I like that it is subtle and not as attractive as Iku NEO 10R, I recently reviewed.

Unlike the mid-range IQO Z10, IQO Z10X retains its flat display panel.

While things have improved around the back, it is not the same with the front. LCD, although the same 6.72-inch diagonal, FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rates, have some thick boundaries. The boundaries are the thinning on the sides (although Iku is not thin like those on Z9x), but the top is thick at the top and thick at the bottom. It is easy to conclude that IQO has cut some corners here, but more about it in our review.

The phone also retains its IP64 dust and water resistance rating from IQO Z9X. Looking at its chunky appearance and weight (204G), Iku decided to leave the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which was available on the previous model.

The camera module appears unusually complex, given that it only provides a user-accessible camera. It remains as original with a 50-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture) primary camera (with no OIS) and a 2-megapixel depth camera (for portrait camera mode). The selfie camera is also the same as before, and it is an 8-megapixel unit. I am definitely not expecting better performance in the Photography Department this year.

For core hardware, some are upgrades. A new MediaTek Dymenties 7300 processor provides 2.5GHz maximum clock speed compared to Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SOC used in previous models. The GPU of 7300 is also much faster than the GPU in IQO Z9X, so gaming performance should look at some improvements.

Apart from this, the new new is a 6GB base RAM variant, which is an improvement on the original 4GB RAM variant which has been offered IQO Z9X. The IQO Z10X 6GB+128GB (Rs 13,499), 8GB+128GB (Rs 14,999) and 8GB+256GB (Rs 16,499) are available in variants. There are support for many SA and NSA 5G brands and dual 5G standby. There is no NFC, but you get Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.

The battery has increased from a unit of 6,000mAh to 6,500mAh unit. This time, given the more efficient TSMC chipset, I can only expect IQO Z10X to perform better than IQO Z9X. Charging lives with Z9x, which is 44W.

With many upgrades, we are expecting Eku Z10X that last year we performed better in some areas than IQO Z9X. We are not very confident about its camera, which remains the same as before. Hopefully, IQO has taken care of the annoying spamy notifications experienced on IQO Z9X this time. If you are looking for a big battery budget smartphone that will not break the bank, then IQO Z10X can only be the right phone. But we recommend waiting for our detailed review before taking one.
