New Delhi:
“I am Manjunath from Shivamogga, Karnataka. We have come on a Kashmir visit. Today is the day of our journey.” Sitting with his wife in a Shikara, 47 -year -old Manjanath Rao looked happy with the beautiful beauty of ‘Earth Par Parag’. A little he knew that his holiday – and his life – would be less than a heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
As the nation struggles to face the loss of life of 26 innocent people in the terrorist attack, a video of Manjannath and his wife Pallavi, perhaps their final together, has emerged. In the video, the couple says they are enjoying their journey and thanking the tour planner.
“Yesterday, we stayed in a Bothhouse. It was very good. We are now enjoying a Shikara ride. Mohammad Rafiq ji is doing Shikara daily. Kajal Thakur of India’s travel store organized our journey.” Manjunath combines with a thumb, “We really like it, very good service, thanks.” Pallavi says, “Thank you, Kajal Mam.”
Hours later, Talujunath was shot dead in front of Pallavi and his 18 -year -old son Abhijiya. In a voice with shocks and grief, Pallavi told a Kannada TV channel on the phone, “My husband was cured in front of me. I could not cry or react, I could not even understand what happened.”
He said that after shooting Manjunath, he and his son faced one of the terrorists and asked him to shoot. “The terrorist replied, ‘Nahin Marranrange. Tumor Modi speaks Jake’ (I will not kill you. Go and tell Modi),” Pallavi said. He said that a driver and three others helped him get security.
Manjnath’s uncle Madhav Murthy told the news agency Annie, “His son scored 98 percent marks in class 12 examinations, which is why he took his family to Jammu and Kashmir. He was eating Panipuri when the terrorists attacked him.”
Karnataka minister Madhu Bangarappa visited Manjunath’s house and expressed condolences. “This is very unfortunate, and such a situation was completely unexpected. Our ministers are already present there and are actively coordinating the efforts. The state government is handling the matter with full care and responsibility,” he said.
