Ranchi:
Jharkhand Minister Hafizul Hasan on Monday clarified his controversial remarks about “Sharia first, then Constitution”, stating that it was out of a wrong interpretation and context.
Talking to the media, Mr. Hasan explained, “I did not say ‘main’ (i), I said ‘we’ (we). See the full statement. I am a minister; ‘Hum’ all include. A minister believes in the constitution and actions.”
Mr. Hasan defended himself, saying that Shariat, like other religions, holds a place in the hearts of people, but it does not reduce the constitution.
“Sharia also has its own place. People keep Lord Hanuman in their hearts … It is a way to say.
Mr. Hasan further emphasized that as a minister, he works according to the Constitution and his comment was misunderstood by some people. He urged people to fully understand the context of his statement.
Mr. Hasan’s comments have created a political controversy, and the demand for Marandi for action combines the ongoing debate.
Arjun Ram Meghwal strongly condemned the alleged comments made by Minister Hassan against the Constitution, especially on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, one day Dr. Dedicated to honor BR Ambedkar.
While talking to the media, Meghwal insisted, “Today Ambedkar is Jayati. We should all respect the Constitution. A lot of programs were organized in Delhi in honor of the Constitution. If someone says something against the Constitution, it is not right. It is condemnable.”
The state BJP president and leader, the opposition (LOP) in the Jharkhand Assembly, Babulal Marandi, demanded an explanation from the Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morch (JMM) on the controversial comments of Minister Hassan.
Marandi said, “It has become clear that Congress and JMM make fun of the Constitution for walking with a copy of the Constitution. Reality has come out through Hafizul Hasan’s words.” He further criticized the parties, claiming that the comment revealed their disregard for the constitution.
The BJP leader continued, “Therefore the BJP demands that the Congress and JMM should give an explanation and such a minister should leave the cabinet. The BJP will agitate in Jharkhand so that the people of this state and the country should know that the people of Congress and JMM do not believe in the constitution and want to work according to the Sharia.”
