Police officials confirmed on Monday on Monday that a journalist in Haryana’s Jhanjar district was shot dead by unknown assailants in Jhanjar district of Haryana late on Sunday and was later succumbed due to injuries.

The victim, Dharmendra Singh Chauhan, a long time journalist and residents of Luhari village in Jhajjar, returned home after work on Sunday evening.

After dinner, he stepped into a walk when he was attacked and shot by unknown individuals, who fled from the spot immediately after the incident.

Local people listening to the gun bullet reached the spot and found Chauhan lying on the ground in a pool of blood. He immediately informed his family and took him to a hospital in Pataudi.

Given the severity of his situation, he was referred to elsewhere for advanced care, and the family opted him to transfer him to a private hospital in Gurugram.

He was admitted to Ganesh Ji Hospital in Gurugram, where he succumbed due to his injuries during treatment. The family said that they have upheld a bullet injury on their heads, due to which their condition was very important from the beginning.

On receiving the information, a team of police and forensic department reached the crime site and started an investigation. Evidence was collected from the spot, but no lead has been revealed about the motive behind the identity or murder of the attackers.

Chauhan’s family is still in shock, unable to identify any possible suspects.
