Know the exam, paper pattern, exam structure, negative marks, major guidelines on 25 May

UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Live Update: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Civil Services Preliminary Examination on 25 May. The examination includes two objectives – the papers of the Prakara – General Studies (GS) Paper 1 and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), also known as Paper 2 – each 200 marks. GS Paper I assess candidates on topics like history, geography, political science, economics and development and technology. The CSAT paper evaluates understanding, logical arguments and analytical abilities.

The candidates will have to maintain their e-ADMIT card till the final results of the 2025 Civil Services Examination are announced. They should carefully read the “important instructions” related to the admit card.

The examination centers will be closed for the Scheduled Start Time -9am and afternoon session for the morning session 30 minutes before 2 pm. Candidates should reach the venue at least 60 minutes before the reporting time and take a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or driving license) with a printed copy of the admit card. Digital copies of the admit card will not be accepted.
