Madras HC Chennai Center has NEET-OG 2025 results on power outage claims

The Madras High Court has stopped an interim migration officers from releasing NEET -UG -2025 results after hearing the petition of several students affected by power cuts at an examination center in Chennai. Justice vs Lakshminarayanan heard the petition, gave an interim stay on Friday and postponed the matter on June 2 for further hearing.

The cruelty to present the students was that due to the storm and heavy rains, there was an electricity withdrawal in PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalayala CRPF-Evadi, Chennai, which was his examination center from around 3 pm to 4.15 pm on the date of examination, ie May 4, 2025.

According to an affidavit of 13 students, there were no backup facilities such as generators or inverters.

“We were forced to write the exam under the condition of poor lighting, and rainwater entered the examination hall, causing further disruption because we were asked to move from the prescribed seats,” he presented.

Despite the disruption, the examination authorities did not give any extra time to the affected students. Similarly, the petitioners could not complete the examination completely.

The petitioners said that they were roughly under the status of uneven examination compared to the candidates of other centers, violating Article 14 of the Constitution. In addition, rights were also violated under Article 21 (Protection of Life, Liberty).

“Like NEET, a national level competitive examination should ensure a level of sports ground, which was denied the petitioners.” Despite timely representation and follow -up efforts on 4 May, the defendant officials have not accepted or addressed the actual complaints of the petitioners. The respondents include the Central Government, National Medical Commission and National Testing Agency which operates NEET.
