Officials said on Monday that Maskan Rastogi, who accused her husband of killing her husband and kept in jail here, was found pregnant during the preliminary examination.
Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said that health check -ups and pregnancy tests are done regularly for every female prisoner in the jail and Muskan’s test was also a part of the process.
He said that he has not yet received the report of doctors and he has received oral information that Muscan is pregnant.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria said that Mascan was given an initial test, which confirmed his pregnancy.
He said that the next step would be an ultrasound test, which would clear the pregnancy condition and duration.
A former businessman Navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was killed at his house in Indiranagar in Meerut district on the night of March 4. His wife, Muskan, and his boyfriend, Sahil have been accused of drugs and stabbing her.
It is alleged that he destroyed his body, separated his head and hands, and hidden him in a blue drum filled with cement.
An investigation into the sensational case has revealed that Maskan was allegedly planning to murder since November 2023.
Both the accused are currently in judicial custody. Maskan is engaged in sewing work in jail, while Sahil is involved in agricultural work. Both have also been included in the rehabilitation process with the help of the Drug Day-Ediction Center.
