Minister denied the ‘Athong’ Pahgam attack till ‘Welcome’ bouquet

Surat

Union Water Power Minister CR Patil has said that he will not accept any welcoming bouquet or souvenirs, unless he avenges a deadly terrorist attack in Pahgam, who killed 26 people in India.

Arriving at an investor conference in Surat city of Gujarat, Mr. Patiy politely turned down any bouquet or souvenirs.

The Union Minister’s decision was announced by an organizer, who said in the past “it was decided that he would not be welcomed with a bouquet or memento until Pahgam was avenged”, clapping with the audience.

“There is no reception, until revenge is taken,” Mr. Patil later said in Gujarati.

After suspension of the Indus Water Treaty as part of India’s action against Pakistan, the Union Minister said that New Delhi would not flow the “single drop” of water in Islamabad.

In a post on X, he said: “The historic decision taken by the Modi government on the Indus Water Treaty is completely appropriate and in the national interest. We will ensure that even a drop of water from the Indus River does not go to Pakistan.”

Mr. Patil has been strict about his stance on the terrorist attack in the role of Pahgam and Pakistan.

On 22 April, terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Basaron Meadow near Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

Additionally, India took several action against Pakistan after the terrorist attack, including closing the integrated check posts in the attic, canceling the visas of all Pakistanis and reducing the overall strength of Pakistan’s high commissions across the country.

At the seventh global investor conference in Surat, Mr. Patil said that he had a very meaningful dialogue on matters like entrepreneurship, investment and innovation about India’s developing future.

“Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the vision of a ‘developed India’ is becoming increasingly a reality. Today’s India is not just a consumer, but is emerging as a global leader in investment,” he said in a post on X.

The increasing tension between India and Pakistan has initiated several action from both sides.

On Saturday, India banned direct or indirect imports from Pakistan with immediate effect.

India suspended the exchange of all categories of mail and parcels with Pakistan through air and surface routes.

New Delhi banned Pakistan-Jhru-colored ships from entering Indian ports and stopped Indian-Jhande ships from visiting the ports in Pakistan.
